The current contract of Charles Leclerc with Ferrari extends until the end of the next season. Discussions about the future are already taking place and, despite aiming to stay in Maranello, he is also seeking guarantees of competitive equipment.
The newspaper Corriere della Sera writes that the Monegasque is negotiating a renewal beyond 2024. However, in order to extend his contract, he wants the Scuderia to ensure a car capable of fighting for titles – something he has not had since he arrived in 2019.
According to the same source, after some disappointments, particularly in the current season, Leclerc needs to regain confidence in Ferrari’s capabilities – when, the newspaper writes, team boss Frédéric Vasseur ‘doesn’t seem to have any valuable people around him’.
It should be noted that the most recent impact on Leclerc was in the Sao Paulo GP last Sunday. When he was about to start from second place on the grid, he had to retire on the formation lap due to technical problems with his car.
