After yesterday becoming champion for the sixth time, Johan Kristoffersson achieved victory in the last round of the Rallycross World Championship season – the World RX of Hong Kong 2.
In the warm-up, Niclas Grönholm (Construction Equipment Dealer Team) set the pace, before Kevin Hansen (Hansen WorldRX Team), Kristoffersson (Kristoffersson Motorsport), and Klara Andersson (Construction Equipment Dealer Team) were the strongest in the qualifying rounds. In the semifinals, Kristoffersson and Grönholm led.
A duel between Kristoffersson and Grönholm could have been expected in the final race, but that didn’t happen. Kristoffersson showed superior performance and led from start to finish. He surpassed his teammate Ole Christian Veiby by 3.641s.
In third place was the surprising Patrick O’Donovan, who directly defeated his teammate Timmy Hansen by 0.400s. Grönholm and Andersson completed the final classification.
