McLaren revela edição especial do 750S inspirada na “Triple Crown”

McLaren presented a special series of the 750S carried out by its special operations division (MSO), called 3-7-59, which pays homage to the “Triple Crown” of motor sport.

Presented at the Velocity Invitational in Sonoma (California, USA), the 3-7-59 recalls the victories of Johnny Rutherford’s McLaren M16D, who won the 1974 Indianapolis 500 with number 3, Alain Prost’s MP4/2, who won the 1984 Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix with number 7, and Yannick Dalmas’ McLaren F1 GTR, who won the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans with number 59. These three victories represent the achievement of the “Triple Crown” of motor racing and are among McLaren’s most important achievements.

The decoration of this special series of six units, which according to the brand are already all sold, is inspired by the winning models. Thus, the front is based on the 1984 F1, in red and white, while the rear uses the yellow of the winner of the 1974 Indianapolis 500. On the other hand, the door areas use the gray of the F1 GTR that won Le Mans.

Also noteworthy are the satin black wheels with tricolor brake calipers on the front, in red, blue, and gold, as well as the three QR codes in each of the colored areas, which allow access to specific data of the McLaren models that won the “Triple Crown”.

The British brand noted that the specific paintwork of this special 3-7-59 series was carried out by the special operations division of the British brand (MSO), which required 1,200 hours of work.

In the interior, the carbon bucket seats with an orange “Triple Crown” logo stand out, as well as the emblem engraved on the armrest. In addition, the original exterior decoration of the 3-7-59 is also engraved in gray Alcantara on the seats, with monochromatic paint that matches the door lining and the carbon fiber steering wheel. The gearshift paddles placed on the steering wheel are painted with the red and white of the F1, and the pedals are white, black, and orange, just like the stars.

To reinforce the exclusivity of this special model, there is also a commemorative plaque on the door made of red and white carbon fiber used in the bodywork of a McLaren F1.

As for the engine, there are no changes, since this special version of the 750S uses the same engine as the original version, a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 750 hp (at 7500 rpm) and a torque of 800 Nm (at 5500 rpm), allowing for an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 332 km/h.
