In the return of international single-seater races to the Guia Circuit, Luke Browning was the winner of the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix, which is the FIA F3 World Cup. The race was interrupted with a red flag due to a spectacular accident involving Paul Aron.

With a luxurious lineup present – in which this year’s F3 champion, Gabriel Bortoletto, was not found – Browning (Hitech Pulse-Eight) started from pole position and took advantage to maintain the lead, while Gabriele Mini (SJM Theodore Prema) placed himself in second. Alex Dunne (Hitech Pulse-Eight) tried to overtake the Italian on the outside, but hit the barriers.

Upfront, Browning escaped the pursuit, while Mini was being pressured by teammate Dino Beganovic. The Swede launched an attack taking advantage of the slipstream on the second lap towards Lisboa Corner, but failed to brake and collided with the barriers.

There was a virtual safety car and then Browning continued solidly in the lead. Mini finally managed to gain tranquility in second place, while Dennis Hauger (MP Motorsport) reached third on the fifth lap after overtaking Aron (SJM Theodore Prema). The Estonian would suffer a strong crash on the eighth lap, at the Solitude Esses. Despite walking away on his own, his car was engulfed in flames.

The debris on the track forced a red flag. Upon resumption, Browning controlled the race from the front and did not give his rivals a chance in the remaining four laps until the end. The British driver won with a 0.347s advantage. Hauger finished second, after overtaking Mini, and the top five was completed by Mari Boya (MP Motorsport) and Josep María Martí (Campos).
