In 2021, Davide Brivio switched his “natural habitat” MotoGP to take on roles in the Alpine Formula 1 team. In recent days, rumors have emerged about a possible return to the premier category of two wheels as team director of Repsol Honda, but that is not on the table.

This is the assurance given by the Italian in an interview with the site SPEEDWEEK.com: ‘I will stay at Alpine. It is not correct that my contract expires at the end of 2023, I cannot talk about the exact duration of the contract, but it extends to next year. I have no plans to go to another job at this time and I feel comfortable at Alpine. Furthermore, there is no job for me elsewhere, no one has offered me anything. So, I will continue to do what I am doing now’.

Brivio, who led Suzuki to the MotoGP rider’s title in 2020 and was a key figure in part of Valentino Rossi’s career, commented on the possibility of leaving Alpine if he were to receive an offer: ‘Would I consider a job offer? That is a difficult question to answer because I would have to know who is asking and what possible offer it is. I know there is speculation at the moment, but I have a job at Alpine for next year. I am happy here and I am not thinking about any other task’.
