Ferrari started the season as Red Bull’s closest rival, but their progress in racing development has slowed since then. They achieved second and third positions in the early stages of the season. However, as the season continued, they encountered a decline in performance due to McLaren’s improvements. Despite the setback and the unpredictable nature of ground-effect cars, Leclerc highlighted the pivotal moment in their performance in 2024.

In a recent interview, Leclerc stated that the Spanish GP marked a significant turning point for the team. Instead of improvements in their performance, they faced numerous challenges and difficulties. Even though the data suggested that the car had potential, they started encountering obstacles. These issues greatly affected Ferrari’s performance, leading to their struggles and unfavorable results.

Leclerc explained that the changes introduced at the Spanish GP resulted in excessive bouncing. He mentioned that this problem had a detrimental impact on his race. To address this issue, Ferrari made bold adjustments to Leclerc’s setup in the last four races. Their aim was to find a solution for the bouncing problem he faced and enhance the car’s performance and handling.

Among all the problems faced during the races, Leclerc emphasized that bouncing was the main culprit. He stated that this inconsistency in performance hindered their progress in the last few races. Consequently, the team faced more difficulties compared to the beginning of the season. Leclerc attributed the blame to the bouncing issue, which Ferrari needs to resolve before the season resumes. Currently, Ferrari holds the third position in the Constructors’ Championship, and in order to either maintain or move up to second place, significant adjustments are necessary. Ultimately, the team’s performance also relies on the driving skills of Leclerc and Sainz throughout the remainder of the season.

Therefore, Ferrari must address these errors promptly as the summer break draws to a close. The last 10 rounds of the season are expected to be highly competitive and challenging, considering the significant improvements made by the top four teams, as evident in the first half of the season. Fans eagerly anticipate the second half of the season, hoping for Ferrari to regain the strong performance they displayed earlier.
