In a shocking turn of events, the Dallas Cowboys are expected to make a bold move by selecting Georgia offensive lineman Amarius Mims. This highly anticipated decision has sent shockwaves throughout the football world.

Mims, known for his exceptional skills on the field, has been a standout player for the Georgia Bulldogs. With his impressive size and strength, he has become a force to be reckoned with in the college football scene.

The Cowboys, who are always on the lookout for top talent, have recognized Mims’ potential and are eager to add him to their roster. With their offensive line in need of some reinforcements, Mims could be the missing piece to elevate the team’s performance.

Fans are buzzing with excitement and anticipation as they envision Mims donning the Cowboys’ iconic star logo. The team’s decision to select him has sparked debates among analysts and fans alike, with some praising the move and others questioning its potential impact.

Only time will tell if this gamble will pay off for the Cowboys. As the NFL draft approaches, all eyes will be on Dallas to see if they make the anticipated move and secure Mims as their newest addition.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as we bring you the latest news and analysis on the Dallas Cowboys’ draft strategy.

The Dallas Cowboys have an important offseason ahead as they look to make the right moves in the NFL draft. One area they could focus on is the exterior offensive line, and Georgia’s Amarius Mims could be the answer they need.

According to Pro Football Network’s Oliver Hodgkinson, the Cowboys are projected to trade with the Houston Texans for the No. 23 pick and select Mims. This move makes sense for the Cowboys as they are in need of talent and youth on the offensive front.

The Cowboys’ current offensive line duo of Tyron Smith and Zack Martin are nearing the end of their careers. Owner Jerry Jones has taken initial steps to prepare for their departure by extending Terence Steele and drafting Tyler Smith.

While these moves have been successful, the Cowboys still need to find a long-term solution at tackle. Mims has the potential to be that player, but he may need some time to develop.

In Pro Football Network’s draft profile for Mims, he is described as an “offensive tackle with elite mass and length” and an “explosive, high-energy athlete.” Despite his impressive physical attributes, Mims lacks experience, having only made eight starts over three years at Georgia.

Injuries have also played a part in limiting Mims’ playing time. He missed significant time in the 2023 season due to an ankle issue that required surgery. Although there was a chance he could have returned late in the season, Georgia’s failure to make the College Football Playoff ended his season prematurely.

The Cowboys’ interest in offensive tackles is also fueled by the uncertain future of Tyron Smith. Smith, who is set to become a free agent, has been a key contributor for Dallas with 161 starts. However, injuries have taken a toll on him, limiting him to just 30 appearances in the past four years.

While Smith had a productive 2023 season and was named a second-team All-Pro, the Cowboys may be hesitant to re-sign him due to their tight cap space. Spotrac projects Smith to earn a one-year, $7.5 million deal, which may not be feasible for the team considering their other financial commitments.

Ultimately, the Cowboys’ approach to the draft will likely be influenced by what happens with Smith. If they decide not to bring him back, drafting a rookie tackle like Mims could be the right move for the team. The Cowboys have had success in scouting offensive line talent in recent years, and taking a chance on a young player could pay off for them.
