Hyundai has just officially presented the new IONIQ 3, a model that marks a new phase in the brand’s electric strategy and arrives with a clear proposal: to make electric mobility simpler, more accessible, and adapted to everyday European life.
A new concept: the “Aero Hatch” is born
The Hyundai IONIQ 3 introduces a new typology called “Aero Hatch”, which combines two fundamental characteristics:
- aerodynamic efficiency
- above-average interior space
With a projected aerodynamic coefficient of 0.263, the model focuses on a carefully designed silhouette, featuring a low front, extended roofline, and a rear that merges with the spoiler, ensuring a balance between performance and habitability.
“Art of Steel” design with its own identity
The design language follows the philosophy of “Art of Steel”, which emphasizes simple yet expressive surfaces, creating a strong and precise visual.
Distinctive elements include:
- characteristic pixel lighting of the IONIQ range
- light signature with four points evoking the letter “H” in Morse code
- compact proportions with a striking presence
Dedicated platform and competitive autonomy
The IONIQ 3 is built on the E-GMP electric platform with a 400 volts architecture, offering two battery options:
- 42.2 kWh → up to 344 km (WLTP)
- 61 kWh → up to 496 km (WLTP)
This approach allows the model to be adapted to different usage profiles, from urban use to longer journeys.

Fast charging and functional technology
The model supports DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in about 29 minutes, complemented by AC charging of up to 22 kW.
It also includes features such as:
- Plug & Charge
- route planner for electric vehicles
- Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) system to power external devices
Interior surprises with space
Despite its compact dimensions (4,155 mm in length), the IONIQ 3 offers a cabin with superior segment space, thanks to a wheelbase of 2,680 mm.
The “Furnished Space” concept organizes the interior as a living space, featuring:
- completely flat floor
- five real seats
- capacity for three adults in the back
The trunk offers 441 liters, complemented by a lower Megabox.
User-centered technology
The IONIQ 3 debuts in Europe with the Pleos Connect system, based on Android Automotive OS, featuring screens of up to 14.6 inches.
Other solutions include:
- Hyundai Digital Key 2 (access via smartphone)
- advanced connectivity
- intuitive and customizable interface
State-of-the-art safety and assistance
The model integrates the Hyundai SmartSense package, with systems such as:
- Highway Driving Assist 2
- smart remote parking
- blind spot monitoring with visualization
- rearview assistant with memory
It also features seven standard airbags and advanced LED lighting systems with adaptive function.

Balanced performance for everyday use
The IONIQ 3 has been designed for realistic use in the European context, with engines up to 147 hp (107.8 kW) and 250 Nm of torque, offering efficient and comfortable driving, with a top speed of 170 km/h.
European production and focus on the local market
The model will be produced at Hyundai’s factory in Turkey, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to local development and adaptation to the needs of the European market.
A strong new competitor in the segment
With a combination of distinctive design, above-average space, and user-centered technology, the IONIQ 3 positions itself as a solid offering in the competitive compact electric segment.
More than just a new model, it represents a shift in approach: less focus on complexity and more attention to real-world usage in everyday life.
