Marshall RB Rasheen Ali Suffers Devastating Injury at Senior Bowl
The Reece’s Senior Bowl has kicked off the NFL draft season, and while it’s an exciting time for college football prospects, it can also bring devastating news. Marshall running back Rasheen Ali is the latest player to suffer an injury during practice this week. However, there is a glimmer of hope amidst the setback.
According to sources, Ali suffered a ruptured biceps tendon that will require surgery. NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero revealed that Ali faces a four- to six-month recovery period. Fortunately, he should be ready to return for the 2024 season.
Ali had been turning heads at Senior Bowl practice before the injury occurred. Bleacher Report contributor Josh Taylor praised his performance, stating, “Rasheen Ali looks really good too. Quick sudden cuts, also just had a big play up the middle as I typed this.”
Despite the setback, Ali remains a promising prospect for the upcoming NFL draft. PFF ranks him as the 22nd running back and the 221st overall player in the draft class. This suggests that he could be a Day 3 draft pick, potentially going in the late 6th or early 7th Round in April.
The injury raises questions about Ali’s draft status and whether he will be considered a priority free agent. However, with his expected recovery timeline aligning with the start of the new NFL season in early September, there is hope that he will be able to make a strong comeback.
