Limited edition Mustang painted in the iconic Mystichrome color

RTR Vehicles, founded by Vaughn Gittin Jr. in 2009, is offering a limited edition Mustang painted in the iconic Mystichrome color. This unique paint job allows RTR owners to showcase their passion and individuality in a way never before seen on a Mustang. However, interested buyers will need to act quickly as only 1,000 examples of the Mustang RTR with Mystichrome will be available. Priced at $15,995, this paint option is the most expensive in the Ford Mustang and RTR color portfolio.

The Mystichrome color made its debut 20 years ago with the 2004 Mustang Cobra, which was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. This special paint featured a range of dynamic hues, including blue, gold, green, purple, and root beer, which shifted tones depending on the lighting and viewing angle. Ford originally offered this option for $3,650 in 2004.

Interestingly, Ford had previously introduced a similar color-shifting paint called “mystic” with the 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. Developed by BASF and utilizing ChromaFlair pigments from Flex Products, the Mystic paint took three years to research and develop. It was available for $815 and only 1,999 Mystic Cobras were produced, with the majority featuring black leather interiors.

Now, with the introduction of the Mystichrome on the new generation of Mustang RTRs, enthusiasts have the opportunity to own a car with this iconic color. The Mystichrome is available through the RTR Extended Color Palette and Paint-to-Sample program, which also offers customers the option to choose any color they desire. Alongside the Mystichrome, the program also offers other unique tones such as RTR Hyper Lime, Rosso Scuderia, Urban Bamboozie, NATO Olive, and Signal Green.

Only the Mustang RTR Spec 2 and Mustang RTR Spec 3 models will receive the Mystichrome treatment. The Spec 2 is equipped with Ford’s 5.0-liter V8 engine, producing 480 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. Buyers can also opt for an active performance exhaust system, which adds an additional 6 horsepower and 3 pound-feet of torque to the mix.

In a stunning turn of events, the Spec 3 has been transformed into an absolute beast on the track. Thanks to the powerful 3.0-liter Ford Performance Whipple Supercharger, this powerhouse now boasts a mind-blowing 810 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. With its aggressive stance and 20-inch staggered RTR wheels paired with Nitto tires, the Spec 3 means business.

But it doesn’t stop there. This track-ready monster has been equipped with RTR Tactical Performance Lowering Springs and an RTR Shock Mount Kit, ensuring maximum performance and handling. The upgrades don’t just enhance its appearance; they transform the Spec 3 into a true track weapon.

The creators of this awe-inspiring machine have dubbed it the “Ready to Rock,” and it’s easy to see why. With its jaw-dropping power and performance enhancements, the Spec 3 is ready to take on any challenge that comes its way. Buckle up and get ready for an adrenaline-fueled ride like no other.
