The National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) and Brisa Autoestradas have signed a commitment within the National Road Safety Strategy Zero Vision 2030, which aims to reduce the number of deaths on highways by 50% by 2030.

The National Road Safety Strategy, which was not approved by the Government, will now be implemented through multi-year action plans, with the ANSR and Brisa commitment being the first agreement to be signed under this national strategy.

Under this agreement, Brisa Autoestradas commits to an estimated investment of five million euros, which includes the adoption of “the best international practices in the use of new equipment to enhance signaling, participation in campaigns for the adoption of safe behaviors by drivers, and the implementation of corrective measures identified in the National Plan for Accident Accumulation Zones and inspections carried out by the ANSR.”

On the other hand, the ANSR will develop a set of measures with an estimated investment of two million euros, including the development of the “National Plan for the Identification of Accident Accumulation Zones, Road Safety Inspections with the issuance of recommendations for improvement of safety, and the implementation of information and awareness campaigns for the adoption of safe behaviors by drivers.”

According to the ANSR, the measures provided for in the agreement will be subject to monitoring, which will be carried out “with the monitoring of the schedule and the rates of completion of the execution indicators and key performance indicators, and an Annual Monitoring Report of the Zero Vision 2030 Strategy will be produced, to which Brisa Autoestradas will contribute,” adds the ANSR in a statement.
