This week, the FIA announced an investigation into a possible conflict of interests between a member of Formula One Management and a Formula 1 team principal. BusinessF1 Magazine pointed out the names of Mercedes team principal, Toto Wolff, and his wife Susie – director of the F1 Academy.
Meanwhile, the governing body announced that the investigation had concluded. However, the matter has not “died” – on the contrary, it is speculated that Mercedes may explore the possibilities of going to court. Toto Wolff’s reaction came in a statement published this Friday, which reads:
– We are currently in active legal exchange with the FIA. We expect full transparency about what happened and why, and we have expressly reserved all legal rights. Therefore, we ask for your understanding that we will not officially comment for now, but we will certainly address the issue at the appropriate time.
