The 2023 Formula 1 season ended on a high note for McLaren, who achieved fourth place in the Constructors’ Championship and multiple podium finishes from the middle of the season onwards. An impressive recovery after a difficult start, in which Lando Norris was one of the main protagonists.

However, the driver confided to RacingNews365.com that he still has to drive the car in a different way than he would like, considering its requirements:

“I have been working a bit on trying to still adapt to this car, because it’s not easy to drive. I spent the first part of the season maybe not in the right space, and still, the way I want to drive quickly is the opposite of how this car wants to be driven. My natural thing of going out and driving in qualifying the best I would want is not how the car needs to be driven, so I still have to change a bit the way I have to drive the car.”

According to the British driver, there was an increase in confidence: “That still happened this year, but in the middle of the season, I felt more comfortable. I feel that I was extracting, especially from a racing point of view, the maximum from the car. I simply made too many mistakes in qualifying, which I think were obvious, but I definitely think I had some of the best races I’ve ever had.”
