With over 15 million units sold between 1908 and 1927, the Ford Model T was the first mass-produced automobile, equipped with a four-cylinder, 2.9-liter engine, delivering about 20 horsepower. It was enough to reach 68 km/h, consuming 18 liters per 100 kilometers, according to official records.
The collector team from the YouTube channel Merlins Old School Garage still preserves a 1915 model, which, although not completely original, retains the main factory elements, including the mechanics, rigorously maintained throughout its extensive life.
Only this way was it possible to keep the car, with over 100 years, operational, even to undergo testing on the dynamometer, where it recorded a modest performance of 13 horsepower and 121 Nm of maximum torque to the wheels. In other words, considering that part of the energy is consumed by its rudimentary transmission, we can say that this Model T is in very good shape for its age.
