Nova iniciativa explora hidrogénio para o automobilismo com a FIA envolvida

The Extreme H prototype recently completed its first test. The new off-road championship with hydrogen-powered cars will start in 2025, derived from the current Extreme E.

Equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell, the car took its first laps on the track recently, on unspecified dates and location. It was a first shakedown of the chassis that will hit the tracks in just over a year.

The founder and CEO of Extreme E, Alejandro Agag, commented: ‘Completing this initial shakedown of the Extreme H prototype is a sign of strong progress as we prepare for the launch of Extreme H in 2025. We are excited to reveal the first aspect of our hydrogen-powered concept, which we feel will be innovative in motorsport. This is an important first step as we transition to an exciting hydrogen future and launch the first-ever hydrogen-powered off-road world championship’.

The technical director of Extreme E, Mark Grain, explained: ‘Preparations for the launch of Extreme H are well underway, and successfully conducting a first shakedown of the prototype chassis for the championship is a vital milestone. It was a huge team effort, and this first step would not have been achieved without the support of Spark Racing Technology, which performed impressively. There is still much work to be done before the launch of Extreme H in 2025, but we are pleased with the progress of our concept, which we believe will deliver strong performance and push the boundaries of innovation not only in motorsport but also with potential for the future of mobility on a broader scale’.
