Carlos Sainz quer renovar com a Ferari ‘por mais do que um ano’

Carlos Sainz sees his contract with Ferrari expiring at the end of the next Formula 1 season and has not yet renewed. His future has been put into question, with speculation even linking him to the Audi project, but his intentions involve a long-term agreement… and quickly.

Quoted by grandprix.com, the Madrid-born driver reacted to the rumors about a one-year contract being on the table: ‘There is talk about what they are offering me, but it is being said without knowing, and I will not speculate’.

That being said, in statements made on the sidelines of a sponsor event, Sainz reiterated his desire to continue at Ferrari and preferably in the long term with a contract signed before the next season:

– We have to agree and we have three months ahead of us to do that – until the first race of the championship. It is obvious that I want to renew and I would like to do it for more than one year. I feel perfectly valued by Fred [Vasseur, team boss] and the entire Ferrari family, and as a driver, that is your main priority’.

And the 29-year-old Spaniard added: ‘I will renew if I feel this way and if I feel valued, which I am. I am convinced that if we both want to, we will reach an agreement’.
