Lancia Ypsilon. Aí está o novo rival do Renault Clio!

New Lancia Ypsilon caught without filters before the official launch.

The new Ypsilon official presentation is scheduled for next February – in the city of Milan – through the exclusive New Lancia Ypsilon Cassina Limited Edition, available with electric motorization, and in only 1906 units, numbered and certified. But Lancia has already started the communication campaign and it was during the recording of one of the promotional videos that the first images of the new Italian city car in its final version were captured, confirming the design strongly inspired by the Pu+Ra HPE prototype, and the rich legacy of a brand with 117 years of history.

The new Ypsilon, the first of three cars to be presented by the Italian brand in the near future (the Gamma will follow in 2026 and the Delta in 2028), uses the e-CMP2 platform of the Peugeot 2008 and Jeep Avenger, among several others, incorporating the same electric mechanics that we know from the Peugeot E-208 or the Opel Corsa-e, just to mention a few. This implies that it will offer a power of 115 kW/156 hp and use a 54 kWh capacity battery, which will provide a range of about 400 kilometers.

While there is no certainty about the technical specifications of the new Lancia, there is no doubt about the creative appeal of the reinvented Ypsilon. Starting with the front of the car, characterized by the reinterpretation of the historic grille, now designed for the future with three rays of light, which ideally embrace the Lancia logo, the latest image reveals the rear section of the car, with the iconic round LED headlights, in a clear reference to the unforgettable Lancia Stratos, a legendary model in the world of rallying. The two headlights now feature a new design element, the letter Y, an extreme symbolic synthesis placed horizontally inside the circles, reflecting the new “pure and radical” design language, says Luca Napolitano.

Before that, the Italian brand unveiled the interior decoration, greatly inspired by the world of furniture, thanks to the collaboration with the Italian brand Cassina, a world leader in the sector, materialized, for example, in the first “tavolino” on board a car so that “users feel at home, wherever they are.” The Ypsilon’s coverings will be mostly recycled or recyclable, and the circular design dominates in various details and locations, including the debutant S.A.L.A. infotainment system.

In Italian and Portuguese, the word “SALA” translates to living room, being here the acronym for Sound Air Light Augmentation, a technology that represents the crucial parameters for creating a comfortable driving experience, in the perfect Lancia style. SALA operates based on a fully customizable and widget-based system. It includes two high-definition screens as standard, with the home page serving as a centralized control panel for sound, air, and lighting, a configuration that allows effortless customization of the car’s atmosphere.
