One day before the end, Mitchell Guthrie is close to victory in the 2024 Dakar in Challenger. Despite finishing sixth in the 11th stage, he maintains a comfortable advantage over his pursuers. Nicolas Cavigliasso once again finished at the top of a stage, while Ricardo Porém brought the Portuguese colors into the top ten.

With the colors of the Taurus Factory Team, Cavigliasso took 5h19m13s to complete the stage, surpassing yesterday’s winner, Marcelo Tiglia Gastaldi (Team BBR/Taurus), by 6m18s. The Brazilian was penalized by ten seconds, but it didn’t change the result. Saleh Alsaif (Dark Horse Team/GRally) finished third, followed by Cristina Gutiérrez (Red Bull Off-Road Junior Team USA by BFG/Taurus) and Rokas Baciuska (Can-Am Factory Team). The overall leader, Guthrie (Taurus Factory Team), signed the sixth fastest time, losing less than three minutes to the direct pursuers. Porém (MMP/BRP) finished seventh.

With only one stage remaining, Guthrie has a 25m07s advantage over Gutiérrez to manage in the Dakar standings. Baciuska remains in third, with less than four minutes of margin ahead of Francisco López Contardo (Can-Am Factory Team). Far from the podium fight is the fifth-placed Austin Jones (Can-Am Factory Team). Porém continues solidly in seventh.
