A few days before its launch, the renewed Porsche Panamera once again becomes the “king” of the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany, completing a lap in 7:24.17 minutes.
The time recorded by Porsche test driver Lars Kern at the wheel of the pre-series variant of the high-performance sedan sets a new lap record for luxury cars with combustion and hybrid engines, and is 5.65 seconds faster than the comparable model from the previous generation.
“The new Porsche Active Ride chassis has made a particularly important contribution. The vehicle always remains parallel to the road. The cornering stability and body stability are at a completely new level. As a driver, this gives me a good feeling and further underlines that our development not only offers comfort during everyday driving, but also makes a real difference on the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. No other Porsche offers such a wide range between comfort and sportiness. The new Panamera combines the positive characteristics of an exclusive sedan with the behavior of a sports car,” said Lars Kern.
Porsche revealed that the Panamera driven by Lars Kern on the Nürburgring circuit was equipped with a competition seat and mandatory safety cell, however, all other components correspond to the production version.
