Aragon permanecerá no calendário da MotoGP até 2026.

The Motorland Aragon circuit secured its place on the MotoGP calendar for the next three years, until 2026, after an agreement between Dorna and the local government of Aragon on Tuesday. This new three-year contract comes after the previous agreement signed in 2022, which established that Aragon would host three Grand Prix races over five years. However, due to the absence of MotoGP at the Spanish venue in 2023, the previous agreement only guaranteed two races between now and 2026. To gain more exposure for their circuit, the government of Aragon offered and approved a new agreement, ensuring Aragon’s presence on the MotoGP calendar for the next three years. The agreement was signed by Manuel Blasco, Minister of Environment and Tourism and President of Motorland, and Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports. The terms of the contract remain the same as the 2022 agreement, with the Government of Aragon required to contribute an additional €8 million to host the extra Grand Prix. According to the MotoGP announcement, this development follows a study conducted by the Aragon Development Institute, which highlighted the economic and reputational benefits of hosting motorcycle Grand Prix races. The study revealed that hosting the MotoGP has an economic impact of €47 million, making the hosting fee of €8 million a worthwhile investment. It also found that event participants spend an average of €200 per day and over €460 per stay. Fans can eagerly anticipate the Aragon GP in 2024, which will take place from August 30th to September 1st.
