Yuki Tsunoda: The Unyielding Fighter Ready to Conquer F1 Again!
In a bold declaration that echoes through the paddocks of Formula 1, Yuki Tsunoda is sending a clear message: he is far from done with racing. The tenacious Japanese driver, who faced the harsh reality of being let go from Red Bull’s sister team, Racing Bulls, at the end of the last season, refuses to bow out quietly. Instead, he is gearing up for a triumphant return to the pinnacle of motorsport, and he’s determined to make it happen sooner rather than later.
Tsunoda’s journey in Formula 1 has been anything but smooth. After a promising start with Racing Bulls in 2021, he was thrust into the spotlight just three rounds into the 2025 campaign. However, the notorious “Red Bull second-seat curse” proved too much, and by 2026, he found himself relegated to a reserve driver role, making way for rookie Isack Hadjar to team up with Max Verstappen. But don’t count Tsunoda out just yet! The resilient racer has been a constant presence in the paddock this season, a move he believes is crucial for his eventual comeback.
“I want to still… I’m not giving up on driving in F1,” Tsunoda asserted emphatically. “Rather than going to other series and racing… That’s also partly good because you’ll be sharp, but at the same time, you don’t know what’s going on in F1 very much.” His commitment to remaining involved in the sport is as fierce as his desire to reclaim his spot on the grid.
Despite not racing this year, Tsunoda’s dedication to his physical fitness is unwavering. He is adamant that he is in the best shape of his life, declaring, “I actually still prepared for the season quite a lot physically. Now is probably the best shape I’ve been in my life… I think physically, in terms of numbers, it’s even better than last year.” Red Bull has recognized his determination, backing his decision to stay fit and prepared for any opportunity that may arise—because in F1, anything can change in an instant.
“I’m definitely happy with my shape, and I just need some laps for my muscles to get used to driving again,” he explained. Despite the oddity of training without racing, Tsunoda remains focused and ready for action. “Sometimes I feel a little bit weird doing this kind of preparation and training, knowing that I’m not racing. But anything can happen. That’s what I also got told by the team. I’ve prepared as much as possible, I’m in the best shape, and my mental approach is always, ‘Okay, if the team asks me to jump in, make sure I perform.’”
As the current drivers for Racing Bulls and Red Bull continue to perform at their best, Tsunoda is biding his time, waiting for the moment he can reclaim his place in the competitive world of Formula 1. “Anything can happen in F1,” he stated, embodying the spirit of a true racer who refuses to accept defeat.
With a steely resolve and a body that’s primed for action, Yuki Tsunoda is ready to take the F1 world by storm again. Stay tuned, because this fighter is just getting started, and the roar of his engines may soon be heard once more!
