Max Verstappen and Lando Norris had a collision during the Austrian Grand Prix, resulting in a victory for Mercedes. Alex Albon believes that the reaction to this incident has been exaggerated. Verstappen received a 10-second time penalty, but it did not affect his final position, while Norris had to retire due to damage.

McLaren boss Andrea Stella was upset with Verstappen’s actions, suggesting that his aggressive behavior stemmed from previous incidents that went unpunished. However, Albon thinks that the media coverage has blown the incident out of proportion, considering the minor contact that occurred. He believes that Verstappen was unlucky to be penalized and views it as just hard racing.

Albon, who is friends with Norris and was a former teammate of Verstappen, predicts that their relationship will deteriorate as they continue to battle for victories. He expects more intense racing between them in the future. When asked if he was surprised by Norris’s determination to fight against Verstappen, Albon replied that it was expected, as any driver in a position to win a race would take risks.
