Austrian Grand Prix blames Max Verstappen for incident with Lando Norris seen as ‘intimidation’

Lando Norris and Max Verstappen have emerged as contenders for the championship title. The Austrian Grand Prix was an exciting race, with Verstappen initially dominating. However, a pitstop error caused him to fall into Norris’ hands. The two drivers engaged in a fierce battle, pushing each other to the limit. Unfortunately, they collided and the race officials determined Verstappen to be at fault.

Norris has steadily closed the gap to Verstappen in recent races, becoming the only real challenger for the title in 2024. Their anticipated rivalry on the track materialized in Austria but ended in a collision. Verstappen received a penalty from the FIA for his role in the incident.

Former driver Johnny Herbert commented on the crash, stating that Verstappen had intimidated Norris. He accused Verstappen of unsportsmanlike behavior, as he constantly compromised Norris by moving during braking. Herbert believes Verstappen crossed the line and violated the unwritten code between drivers.

Some experts are concerned that the collision will make both drivers more cautious and avoid wheel-to-wheel battles. However, Herbert disagrees. He believes that the mind games between Verstappen and Norris will only intensify after the crash. Verstappen now knows that his previous tactics won’t work with Norris, and the young driver is determined to overcome his rival for the championship.

Despite the tension in the pits, it is expected that both drivers will have a conversation to resolve their disputes. Fans eagerly await the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, hoping for another thrilling battle between Verstappen and Norris.
