Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut alcança um novo recorde de velocidade

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is a full-fledged sports car that is always ready to achieve new speed records.

This time, the Swedish brand’s sports car became the fastest model in the world in the 0 to 400 km/h acceleration and again to 0, managing to achieve a time of 27.83 seconds to accomplish the feat. In other words, the Jesko shaved off about 1 second from the previous record of 28.81 seconds, which belonged to the Koenigsegg Regera and was achieved in 2023.

The new record was achieved by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh on June 27th on an aviation runway in Sweden, and it was just one of the four records set by a production Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, which only had a roll cage installed inside to provide greater safety to the driver. Additionally, the model used E85 fuel to achieve, among other records, the 0 to 249 km/h acceleration in 18.82 seconds, and the 0 to 402 km/h in 19.20 seconds.

The Swedish brand emphasized that the Jesko Absolut is a sports car “specifically designed for high speeds in a straight line”, as its body provides a low aerodynamic drag of only 0.278 Cd.

Recall that the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is equipped with a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine capable of producing 1600 hp of power and 1500 Nm of maximum torque.

Despite the records already achieved with the Jesko Absolut, Christian von Koenigsegg, CEO and founder of the brand, intends to set new highs with the sports car. “This record race validated the accuracy of the simulated and calculated performance of the Jesko Absolut, which gives us great confidence in its capabilities to be the fastest homologated production car in the world. Now, everything will depend on tire testing, development, and approval before we can attempt a new record again.”
