Mercedes nega acusações da McLaren sobre colisão entre Verstappen e Norris ser consequência da busca de Hamilton pelo campeonato de 2021.

Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen had an intense rivalry in the history of Formula 1 during 2021. The races of both drivers were sabotaged by an unfortunate incident at [insert location]. Verstappen was deemed responsible for the incident and received a ten-second time penalty and two penalty points. Many people remembered the numerous collisions between Hamilton and Verstappen during the controversial 2021 season.

In the 2021 season, Verstappen and Hamilton collided several times. The British Grand Prix was particularly notable as Verstappen’s race was sabotaged after a major collision with Hamilton. Some believed that Lando Norris’ collision was related to the unpunished incidents involving Hamilton in 2021. However, the team rejected such conclusions and stated that they had moved past the previous issues.

The Austrian team boss had not yet seen the incident between Norris and Verstappen. Therefore, he would need to examine the incident in detail before drawing any conclusions. However, the incidents from 2021 had no influence on what occurred this season. Wolff noted that the handling of the accident at the Austrian Grand Prix was unsatisfactory on the part of the FIA.

Max Verstappen faced the consequences of the incident, while Lando Norris escaped without penalties. The team criticized the penalty as unnecessary and too severe. Additionally, Norris would not receive any additional penalties at the upcoming British Grand Prix. However, the Red Bull boss supported the team’s star in the incident.

Horner acknowledged that Verstappen was a tough competitor and McLaren and Norris were aware of that. He highlighted that the British driver was trying to make up for lost results in the qualifying race. Therefore, it was inevitable that the two highly skilled drivers would collide and find themselves in a heated situation.

A McLaren showed respect to Verstappen even though he was not at fault for the incident. Thus, Woking demonstrated great integrity, and Verstappen was not entirely wrong in his position. The collision was a racing incident that could have been avoided. However, moments like these contribute to an immensely thrilling rivalry between the drivers on the track.
