Jorge Martin, the current leader of the MotoGP championship, narrowly escaped a penalty after a scare with Jack Miller during the Dutch TT. Martin and a group of riders slowed down to prevent those behind them from taking advantage of their slipstream on the fast Dutch track. This chain reaction caused Martin to brake suddenly while Miller looked over his shoulder. Fortunately, there was no accident, but Miller’s KTM’s front aerodynamic suspension was damaged. Martin stated that he couldn’t see what happened behind him and that it was just a minor touch. Miller, on the other hand, accepted blame for the incident and acknowledged that the slow riding was a result of others trying to follow the group. Despite this incident, there was no investigation or penalty imposed. The lack of consistency in the penalties applied by the MotoGP judiciary raised questions about its impartiality and whether complaints or accidents play a role in determining the severity of punishment.
