Toto Wolff insiste que não há ‘hostilidade’ entre Lewis Hamilton e George Russell.

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have been teammates since 2022 in the world of Formula 1. Both drivers, who are part of the Silver Arrows team, possess great skill and talent. They share the common goal of performing well on the race track. This has led to occasional clashes between the two Britons during races. However, team boss Toto Wolff believes that there is no personal animosity between them at the team headquarters in Brackley.

During a qualifying session, George Russell expressed his frustration towards Lewis Hamilton. There were also rumors circulating that Hamilton’s chassis was deliberately sabotaged against Russell. Despite these tensions, the team did not intervene and asked the drivers to switch positions at the end of the race.

Toto Wolff acknowledged that the rivalry between the two drivers is inevitable. However, he emphasized that both drivers have shown great respect for each other and have not caused any further issues. Wolff learned from the intense rivalry between Hamilton and his former teammate, Nico Rosberg, and made efforts to prevent animosity from growing between Hamilton and Russell.

The 2024 season started poorly for Mercedes as they struggled to keep up with their rivals. However, the team made significant improvements by introducing several updates during the season. Lewis Hamilton secured his first podium of the season, which brought him immense joy.

Hamilton considered the Spanish weekend as one of the highlights of the 2024 season. He reflected on the disappointment of the previous 15 races and expressed his satisfaction in finally achieving a positive result. The 39-year-old driver also emphasized the importance of on-track battles to reaffirm the team’s position in the sport.

The Mercedes team plans to continue introducing more updates throughout the season to improve their performance. Although they have made progress in the championship standings, they still have a long way to go to match the pace and performance of Red Bull in the 2024 season.
