Zak Brown arrives at the venue
Shortly before the start of Free Practice 3 for the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix, a fire broke out in the McLaren facilities designated for guests.
“Earlier today, we evacuated our Team Hub hospitality unit from the paddock due to a fire alert. The team was safely evacuated while the local fire department deals with the situation,” McLaren stated.
No McLaren team members were injured, but the hospitality center suffered extensive damage. Four members of the fire safety team are currently receiving medical treatment for smoke inhalation.
