Tsunoda não está otimista sobre melhorias para a corrida de F1 na Espanha.

Yuki Tsunoda, a Japanese driver from RB, expressed that he does not want to create high expectations to catch up to Aston Martin in terms of performance. This comes as RB unveils an updated version of the RB car for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix. Currently, RB is in sixth place in the constructors’ championship, with 28 points, ahead of Haas in seventh place by 21 points, but behind Aston Martin in fifth place by 30 points. Unlike Aston Martin, RB did not have difficulties in the development race last season. In fact, RB performed well under the AlphaTauri flag. With the introduction of a revised floor, bodywork, and rear wing, Tsunoda was asked if his team can narrow the gap to their rivals. Tsunoda responded by saying he does not want to create high expectations, but believes that the update will provide an overall improvement in aerodynamic load. He mentioned that the team will have to evaluate the updates on the track to have a clearer picture. Joey Egginton, technical director of RB, expects a busy Friday practice as the team familiarizes themselves with the various updates on the car. The team has worked extensively in the simulator and offline tools to prepare for the event. They have developed an aerodynamic update consisting of floor, bodywork, and rear wing for both cars, which is expected to offer a measurable performance benefit. Tsunoda also emphasized the need to focus on delivering a good performance from RB in high-speed corners in the upcoming races in Barcelona, Red Bull Ring, and Silverstone. He acknowledged that their strengths lie more in low-speed corners and they tend to struggle in high-speed corners. Therefore, the team will prioritize improving their performance in high-speed corners.
