Helmut Marko comenta sobre especulação de Max Verstappen na Mercedes.

Helmut Marko recently addressed speculation surrounding Max Verstappen’s potential move to Mercedes in 2026. When asked about Verstappen’s future with Red Bull Racing, the octogenarian did not provide specific details. Instead, Marko emphasized that the team’s current focus is on the upcoming races and the goal of winning the World Championship. He highlighted the importance of taking careful steps and focusing on the tasks at hand.

Marko acknowledged that competing teams facing off and taking points from each other is a significant advantage for Red Bull. This situation prevents a single team from consistently winning and accumulating a large number of points. Marko expressed his hope that this scenario continues, as it gives Red Bull a better chance of staying ahead in the rankings.

Addressing rumors that Red Bull had complained to the FIA about Mercedes‘ new front wings, Marko stated that they cannot directly accuse Mercedes of introducing suspicious wings. However, he mentioned that upon closely examining TV images from Montreal, it became evident that the wings on both teams’ cars were visibly flexing. Marko believed that this flexing could potentially affect the cars’ performance on the track.

Marko noted that when the wings were initially approved, they met all required strength standards. However, he expressed uncertainty about how often the team should check their wings and emphasized the importance of regular inspections to ensure their strength and performance throughout the season.

In conclusion, Marko emphasized that the team’s focus should be on the upcoming races and winning the World Championship. He believed that unnecessary distractions should be avoided, and regular checks of the wings can help identify any potential problems early on and make the necessary adjustments to keep the team’s performance at its best.
