Carlos Sainz insiste que ele e Charles Leclerc estão “próximos” apesar de enfrentarem alguma fricção em 2024.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc have been working together as teammates at Ferrari since 2021. The news of Sainz’s departure from Ferrari and his replacement by another driver caught many by surprise. Some believed that this situation could result in a fierce rivalry between Sainz and Leclerc. However, Sainz clarified that he and Leclerc had a good relationship despite the growing tensions within the team.

At the beginning of the 2024 season, Carlos Sainz had a strong performance and hoped to surpass Charles Leclerc after being replaced by Lewis Hamilton. However, Leclerc consistently outperformed him. Sainz addressed rumors of unfair treatment and disagreed with these claims. The 29-year-old driver stated that he had no reason to complain about unfair treatment and acknowledged that there are always moments of tension within a team.

Despite the growing tensions between the drivers and the team, Sainz and Leclerc maintained a good relationship. Sainz emphasized that they were friends on and off the track and formed an excellent team. He also highlighted the importance of having two drivers who get along well and can win races together.

Being unexpectedly replaced by Ferrari was a shocking event for Sainz. He recalled the moment he received the news and admitted that he did not react well. He did not appreciate being let go by the Maranello-based team.

However, Sainz addressed the situation with a philosophical mindset and did not hold onto many negative feelings. He tried to find positive aspects in the difficult situation and saw it as an opportunity to pursue a better future. His main priority is to win the world championship in the elite category of motorsport.

Currently, Carlos Sainz’s seat for the 2025 season is uncertain and there have been no major updates from the driver. Audi and Williams have emerged as the top potential options after missing out on a seat at Red Bull. Additionally, it is highly unlikely that Mercedes will consider the 29-year-old driver for a seat in Brackley next season.
