RS e-tron Performance: o Audi mais potente de sempre

The Audi has decided to renew the e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT launched in 2021, and in addition to updating the two models, it also presented the new RS e-tron Performance.

The renewed e-tron GT range comes with a set of novelties, starting with the 97 kWh battery, which is 9 kg lighter than the 84 kWh battery of the previous model.

The regenerative braking system has also been improved, increasing the recovery capacity from 290 kW to 400 kW, and can be adjusted through the paddles placed behind the steering wheel.

Audi announces that the new battery provides a range of up to 609 km, and that the maximum charging speeds range from 270 kW to 320 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes.

In addition, Audi states that the improvements made to the battery allow for a charging speed of over 280 kW for much longer than the previous model.

The news in the renewed e-tron GT range is not just about the battery, as Audi has equipped the motors of the 100% electric range with more power. Thus, the base model, the S e-tron GT, is equipped with two motors with a combined power of 670 hp, while the RS e-tron GT now delivers 845 hp. The new RS e-tron GT Performance offers 912 hp, making it the most powerful Audi ever.

These numbers allow the e-tron GT Performance to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 250 km/h. The base version is capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, while the RS e-tron GT reaches the same speed in 2.8 seconds.

To harness the full power of the e-tron GT range, Audi has equipped the S e-tron GT with new steel discs, while the RS models come with standard tungsten carbide coated discs. However, Audi has stated that optional carbon-ceramic discs with 10-piston calipers are available.

It is worth noting the work done by Audi engineers on the standard air suspension and the optional adaptive suspension, which allows for adjusting the ride height and keeping the vehicle nearly horizontal during braking and acceleration for dynamic braking, steering, and acceleration.

No interior, the changes are more discreet, but the renewed e-tron GT range now features new seats that are adjustable in 18 positions, a new steering wheel, as well as an optional panoramic glass roof and an updated virtual cockpit.

“With the e-tron GT models, we are setting new performance standards. The increased charging power and electric all-wheel drive ensure greater long-distance capability and significantly higher performance,” said Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi AG.
