Antigo piloto de F1 acredita que é hora de reconhecer que a F1 superou suas raízes europeias.

In recent times, there has been a consistent increase in the number of races held outside of Europe. The sport of racing, which began in 1950 with the British GP, has been predominantly dominated by European culture. However, there has been a significant shift in the motorsport market, with countries and continents like America and Asia catching the ‘F1 virus’. Former F1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya addressed this fact, emphasizing that Formula 1 fans needed to recognize that the sport had surpassed its European roots. Changes in requirements and regulations have made it challenging for European entities in F1 to keep up with the pace.

Montoya also presented the option of choosing between two circuits, one of which is Miami. While Spa is favored by fans due to its history and track layout, Miami has its own advantages. According to Montoya, Miami offers a better racing experience and an overall show for the sport. Formula 1 is continuously growing in various parts of the world, and with that, the sport is constantly evolving. However, these changes are not always initially well-received by the drivers. Despite their initial complaints, once the drivers experience the changes, they become more accepting of them. Montoya believes that complaining is a natural tendency for Formula 1 drivers.

As the sport seeks to keep fans entertained, major updates will continue to be implemented. Liberty Media’s efforts to increase the appeal of the sport have been successful, and the future of Formula 1 looks promising and exciting.
