Former Formula 1 pilot uses Red Bull as an example for Audi not to underestimate Formula 1.

Ex-piloto da Fórmula 1 usa Red Bull como exemplo para Audi não subestimar a Fórmula 1.

Former Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger believes that Audi’s entry into the sport in 2026 will not result in immediate success. Berger, who has experience with other rookie teams in Formula 1, shared his thoughts on how competitive Audi will be in their first season. He emphasized the difficulty of starting in a high-level motorsport and the need for patience. Berger advised Audi not to underestimate the sport, regardless of their resources and networks. He used Red Bull as an example, highlighting the mistakes they made before achieving success after six years. Berger’s main point is that success in Formula 1 takes time and teams need to improve before they can win. Despite Audi’s success in other motorsports, such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Dakar Rally, Berger believes it will take at least five years for them to become a leading team in Formula 1. He also mentioned Ferrari’s slow progress in the early 2000s, despite having star drivers and a dream team. Berger concluded by emphasizing that reaching the top in motorsport is a slow process, even with the best resources and preparations. He predicts that Audi will face obstacles in their initial journey in Formula 1.
