However, the 26-year-old driver has made it clear that his commitment is currently with Formula 1.
Verstappen has already dipped his toes into the world of Le Mans by participating in the virtual race as a member of the Redline team. Meanwhile, Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, shed light on Sergio Perez’s contract extension. The Mexican driver, who recently signed an extension before the Canadian GP, will remain with Red Bull until the end of 2026. However, the 1+1 clause in Perez’s contract offers flexibility for Red Bull in case he fails to meet the expected performance. Horner stated that there are several drivers within the Red Bull program, with one of them being the leading candidate to fill the seat if necessary.
The contract extension now presents a significant challenge for Sergio Perez, who has been struggling to meet expectations this season and has not proven to be a worthy contender for the coveted Red Bull seat.
