Max Verstappen diz que foi abordado por equipes potenciais para competir na prestigiada corrida de 24 horas de Le Mans.

Max Verstappen, the current Formula 1 world champion, has been attracting attention for a possible participation in the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Verstappen, who achieved his first championship victory in 2021, has always been a passionate supporter of endurance racing and has expressed his desire to compete in Le Mans at some point. Currently leading the Formula 1 world championship with an impressive six wins in nine races this season, Verstappen has been approached by several teams regarding a possible participation in Le Mans. However, the 26-year-old driver has made it clear that his commitment is currently with Formula 1.

Verstappen has already dipped his toes into the world of Le Mans by participating in the virtual race as a member of the Redline team. While he continues to contemplate his interest in the prestigious event, the Dutch driver is cautious about making hasty decisions. He acknowledges that adapting to the unique format of the Le Mans race will require time and careful consideration.

Meanwhile, Christian Horner, the team principal of Red Bull, shed light on Sergio Perez’s contract extension. The Mexican driver, who recently signed an extension before the Canadian GP, will remain with Red Bull until the end of 2026. However, the 1+1 clause in Perez’s contract offers flexibility for Red Bull in case he fails to meet the expected performance. Horner stated that there are several drivers within the Red Bull program, with one of them being the leading candidate to fill the seat if necessary.

The contract extension now presents a significant challenge for Sergio Perez, who has been struggling to meet expectations this season and has not proven to be a worthy contender for the coveted Red Bull seat. With six race wins to his name, Perez will need to improve his performance to secure his place in the team in the coming seasons.
