Opel alarga gama Mokka com versão mild-hybrid

The Stellantis continues to expand the use of its electrified engines for subcompact and compact models of various brands, and this time, it announced that Opel Mokka will now have a mild-hybrid variant.

In this way, the new Mokka Hybrid combines the 1.2-liter, three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, which produces 136 hp of power and a maximum torque of 230 Nm, with an electric motor that is integrated into the new six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and provides an additional 28 hp and 55 Nm. These numbers allow the Mokka Hybrid to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 207 km/h.

The electric motor is powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery that automatically recharges while decelerating during driving.

According to Opel, the Mokka’s mild-hybrid system reduces fuel consumption by “approximately” 20% compared to the version with the same gasoline engine and eight-speed automatic transmission, while average CO2 emissions have been reduced from 137 g/km to 110 g/km.

Opel also adds that the new mild-hybrid version of the Mokka is capable of driving in electric mode for up to 50% of the time in low-speed urban circuits, although the battery only provides 1km of electric range due to its small size.

Aside from specific logos for this hybrid version, aesthetically this version of the Mokka is identical to the others equipped with combustion engines. Inside, the instrument panel and infotainment screen stand out with specific graphics for the hybrid versions, which show the battery charge status and energy flow, as well as gasoline and energy consumption.
