Famin responde a acusações de favoritismo em relação à equipe Alpine F1.

The head of the Alpine team, Bruno Famin, stated that Esteban Ocon will be treated equally for the remainder of the 2024 Formula 1 season, despite his imminent departure. Ocon was frustrated at the Canadian Grand Prix when he did not regain his ninth position after sacrificing it for his teammate, Pierre Gasly, to chase after Daniel Ricciardo. This incident follows tensions in Monaco, where Ocon was heavily criticized for colliding with Gasly on the first lap. Despite his imminent exit, Famin assures Ocon that his prospects will not be compromised and that he will continue to receive support from the team. Famin emphasizes the importance of Ocon’s success for the overall performance of the team and believes that everyone within the team, including the driver, should contribute to achieving the best possible results. Despite Ocon’s complaints, both Alpine cars finished in the points zone for the first time this season, helping the team climb to eighth place in the standings. Famin emphasizes that it would be counterproductive to harm the chances of a car, as the team aims to climb even higher. He states that Ocon will have the same conditions and status as Gasly and that the team’s interests come first. When asked about concerns regarding Ocon’s behavior considering his future is outside of Alpine, Famin expresses that there are no additional concerns compared to before.
