Alonso diz que Aston Martin entende preocupações da F1 enquanto Espanha sugere atualizações.

Fernando Alonso, driver of the Aston Martin F1 Team, attributed the team’s best performance in the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix to their understanding of recent issues. Aston Martin initially struggled to keep up with the leading group, despite updates that did not provide the expected improvement in speed. Alonso expressed concerns about the team falling behind the midfield pack after two disappointing rounds. However, Aston Martin took advantage of Ferrari’s difficulties and managed to score points with both cars, with Alonso finishing sixth and Lance Stroll seventh.

Alonso described the race as extremely challenging due to the track conditions, with a narrow dry line that made it stressful to stay within the limits. He praised the team for their performance under such challenging circumstances. Although Alonso initially resisted Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes at the start, he lost his position during the pit stops and did not have the speed to challenge the cars ahead.

Despite this, Alonso revealed that Aston Martin’s increased competitiveness was a result of the team having a better understanding of recent setbacks. He commented that they were now more satisfied with the car and believed they had become more competitive. However, Alonso also acknowledged that the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, where the Canadian Grand Prix took place, was a track that suited their package well and that their performance in Barcelona would be a true test of their progress.

The two-time champion revealed that Aston Martin had plans to introduce more components to further reduce the gap to the top four teams. He warned that Barcelona would present a challenge but expressed confidence in the team’s dedication to bring new parts for the next race and maintain their level of competitiveness.
