New hydrogen-electric prototype revealed at Le Mans

The 92nd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans saw the unveiling of the H24EVO, an electric-hydrogen prototype car. The co-presidents of Mission H24, Pierre Fillon and Jean-Michel Bouresche, presented the physical model of the vehicle during race week at the Hydrogen Village. The updated design features a sleek endurance prototype model in a blue and white color scheme. Fillon, who is also the president of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), expressed his excitement about the H24EVO, highlighting its significance as the first electric-hydrogen prototype to compete in endurance races. Bouresche, CEO of the H24Project and co-president of MissionH24, emphasized the goal of making the H24EVO the first FIA-approved electric-hydrogen prototype with performance comparable to the best GT3s. The car, weighing 1300 kg, utilizes an Adess LMP chassis and is equipped with two hydrogen gas tanks and a powerful power unit composed of a lithium battery, electric motor, and a Symbio fuel cell. Future plans include the assembly of the power unit and bench testing of the power unit components starting in October 2024.
