Ford will present the second fully electric model that will be produced at its Cologne plant in Germany on July 10th.
Remember that the 100% electric Explorer is the first fully electric model to be produced at Ford’s first dedicated electric vehicle facilities in Europe, following a €2 billion investment in the Cologne production line.
Now, «AutoNewsEurope» reports that everything indicates that the second electric model to be produced at the German factory will be the Capri, not in the classic coupe format, but rather a compact 100% electric crossover.
Ford has not yet confirmed the return of the Capri, but has already announced that the new model will be a «sporty crossover». Remember that the Ford Capri is one of the most emblematic coupes of the American brand, and was produced between 1968 and 1986 and sold 1.8 million units over three generations.
Todo apunta a que el nuevo modelo eléctrico de Ford utilizará la plataforma MEB del Grupo Volkswagen, la misma que se utiliza en el Explorer y con la que probablemente compartirá varias opciones de motorización, así como las baterías.
