Kyle Larson shared his opinion on how Kyle Busch raced against him at Sonoma Raceway. He had an impressive race, resisting the challenges of Martin Truex Jr. and securing his third victory of the 2024 season, along with the championship lead.
Although Larson had no major concerns going into Sonoma, he had some reservations about racing against Kyle Busch. The two had a collision at Gateway the previous week, where Larson’s Chevy hit Busch from behind, resulting in a spin that forced Busch to retire from the race. However, Larson pointed out that Busch chose not to be overly aggressive with him at Sonoma and showed respect in their on-track interactions. He also praised Busch for his intelligence and strategic approach in races.
There was a lot of controversy surrounding Larson’s eligibility for redemption after losing the Coke 600. However, Larson remained focused on his races and was not worried about the outcome. Now, as the 2021 Cup champion, his focus is on winning the regular season championship. He managed to close the gap on Denny Hamlin and take the lead after Hamlin’s engine failure on the second lap at Sonoma. The battle for additional playoff points is ongoing.
