Max Verstappen sugere que pode permanecer na Red Bull além de 2025 enquanto Perez assina novo contrato.

Verstappen expressed his excitement about the continuation of his successful partnership with Perez after the Mexican driver signed a contract extension with Red Bull. This new agreement secures Perez’s position in the team until the end of the 2026 season, eliminating the possibility of Verstappen joining Sainz at Ferrari in 2025.

Verstappen praised Perez for committing to the team until 2026, emphasizing their strong partnership and their record-breaking season last year. He expressed optimism in building upon their success in the next two years.

Despite rumors that Verstappen could join Mercedes, tensions within Red Bull seem to have diminished since the start of the season. The team dominated last year, winning 21 out of 22 races and securing both world championships for the first time. Verstappen claimed 19 victories, while Perez won twice. However, this season has been more challenging for Verstappen, with competitors like Sainz, Norris, and Leclerc securing wins and indicating a more competitive field.

As the Canadian Grand Prix approaches, Verstappen reflected on his preparations, including time spent at the team’s factory and in the simulator. He highlighted the unique characteristics of the Montreal track, mentioning the importance of a well-balanced car setup and the opportunities for overtaking. Verstappen expressed his excitement to race in Montreal, emphasizing the city’s unique atmosphere and passionate fans.

Heading into the ninth round of the championship, Verstappen maintains a 31-point advantage over Leclerc in the standings.
