Race officials at the Canadian Grand Prix have summoned representatives from the Octane Racing Group after a violation occurred.
“The event organizer openly admitted that the safety precautions in place were not successful in preventing spectators from accessing the track,” authorities said.
“They agreed with the FIA steward and race director’s report, stating that this situation is unacceptable.
“In an attempt to mitigate the problem, the organizer has committed to conducting a thorough investigation and implementing necessary measures before the next event in Canada.”
Authorities have determined that the organizer violated the FIA’s International Sporting Code and have demanded the submission of a formal plan to rectify the situation to the governing body in Paris by the end of September.
They also emphasized that a significant financial penalty would be imposed if a similar incident were to occur again. (Reported by Alan Baldwin)
