Lewis Hamilton diz ter perdido a sensação de ter um grande carro durante a Qualificação, quando George Russell conquistou a pole position no Grande Prêmio do Canadá.

The difficulties of Lewis Hamilton persisted even at the Canadian Grand Prix, where he was outperformed by George Russell.

Mercedes made a strong comeback in the race. The team has been facing difficulties since the beginning of the 2024 season. Brackley has not achieved impressive results yet, despite bringing major upgrades to Monaco. However, there was a major turnaround in Montreal, where George Russell secured pole position, while Lewis Hamilton led the FP3 session.

Hamilton set the fastest lap during the Q2 session of the race. However, the 39-year-old driver narrowly missed out on pole position, despite leading a practice session. Therefore, Hamilton believed that the chassis was excellent throughout the weekend, despite the declining performance. However, the qualifying session was a complete reversal and the pace simply disappeared.

Nevertheless, the British driver did not hesitate to praise Russell for his pole position. The seven-time world champion congratulated his teammate and acknowledged that the whole team did a great job during the weekend. Therefore, these improved results will undoubtedly benefit the constructor throughout the season.

The disappointing performance of the Mercedes W15 was still evident at the Canadian Grand Prix. Hamilton’s qualifying position in P7 was definitely disappointing. Therefore, the 39-year-old driver lost all the performance from his chassis after leading the FP3 session. The British driver did not overlook this fact and expressed his disappointment with the drop in performance.

Hamilton reiterated that the pace somehow disappeared from the car after the FP3 session. Additionally, the tires of the W15 chassis also did not work well for him. Therefore, this was the final blow to Hamilton’s difficulties during the 2024 season. However, the 39-year-old driver will have to work even harder to improve his position from P7.

Lewis Hamilton has a lot of work to do to achieve good results in the 2024 season. The team is far from their winning days before the ground effect era. The German manufacturer will have to continue updating the chassis with various upgrades throughout the season to deal with the disappointing performance.
