Alonso leads second F1 training session in the rain in Canada.

Fernando Alonso, from the Aston Martin F1 Team AMR24, had an exceptional performance in slippery conditions and led the second practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix of Formula 1. Despite the complications of the rain, Alonso managed to set the fastest time of 1:15.810s on soft tires, giving him a four-tenths advantage over George Russell from Mercedes. The track continued to be challenging for the drivers, as neither slicks nor intermediates proved to be ideal. Alonso’s time remained unbeatable due to the predicted rain that arrived during the session. Local hero Lance Stroll supported his teammate by securing the third fastest time, 0.654s behind Alonso. Charles Leclerc finished in fourth place, but Ferrari may face scrutiny from the stewards, as Leclerc used intermediate tires when the track was not officially declared wet. Daniel Ricciardo had an encouraging race and secured the fifth fastest time, followed by Kevin Magnussen in sixth. Lewis Hamilton, Alex Albon, and Sergio Perez also made it into the top ten, while Max Verstappen had issues with the ERS in his car and could not fully participate. Esteban Ocon, Carlos Sainz, Valtteri Bottas, Nico Hulkenberg, and McLaren had a more discreet performance in the session. Zhou Guanyu managed to avoid any incidents and finished ahead of Verstappen, Pierre Gasly, and Lando Norris in Montreal.
