“We have made some improvements, I believe, compared to 12 months ago, involving the drivers much earlier in the project and collaborating with them to shape the characteristics of the car.
“I believe we are heading in the right direction. However, Lewis will certainly bring added value.”
Vasseur was also pleased that the news of Hamilton’s imminent arrival did not leak in advance, as has been the case in previous incidents involving Ferrari.
“We managed to keep it a secret,” Vasseur stated. “I think it was done deliberately by someone from the UK,” he continued, referring to the media reports that emerged that morning.
