Former Haas team boss criticizes Kevin Magnussen for incident in the first lap of the Monaco Grand Prix.

Ex-chefe da equipe Haas critica Kevin Magnussen por incidente na primeira volta do Grande Prêmio de Mônaco.

Kevin Magnussen collided with the rear of Sergio Perez’s RB20 during the Monaco race.

Guenther Steiner, the former team principal of Haas, received criticism for the accident that occurred on the first lap of the Monaco Grand Prix. Magnussen attempted to overtake after the first corner of the track and ended up colliding with Perez.

The Haas F1 team had a disappointing season, scoring only seven points in eight races. They were hoping for a strong performance at the Monaco GP, but Magnussen’s accident with Perez on the first lap also affected his teammate.

Steiner expressed his disappointment with Magnussen’s actions, calling them foolish and unnecessary. After 10 years with the team, Steiner left Haas earlier this season.

According to Steiner, it is unlikely for a driver to score points after starting last in a race like Monaco. Therefore, Magnussen’s maneuver, which also impacted Nico Hulkenberg, was ill-advised. The Haas F1 team will focus on minimizing errors in future races to improve their position in the constructors’ championship.

Steiner shared his thoughts on Alpine’s search for drivers for the 2025 season. The Enstone-based team has been rumored to be considering hiring Mick Schumacher, but Steiner believes they should consider other options.

During Steiner’s tenure as team principal, Schumacher raced for Haas in the 2021 and 2022 seasons. However, his involvement in several accidents resulted in significant damage costs. Therefore, Steiner advises Alpine to give opportunities to other capable drivers.
