Vinales lidera primeiro treino de MotoGP em Mugello

Maverick Vinales conquered the fastest time in the MotoGP open practice session at Mugello before this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.

Yamaha recently conducted private tests to make improvements to their bike, and it has paid off so far, as Fabio Quartararo finished in second place.

Franco Morbidelli was the leading Ducati rider, with Pramac Racing’s Pedro Acosta and Jorge Martin closely following.

Although Marc Marquez and Gresini were initially in the lead, Marquez finished the session in sixth place.

Aleix Espargaro continued his good form from the previous race in Catalunya, finishing ahead of reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia.

Alex Rins started well but fell off his bike during the session, managing to improve his position to ninth place.

Both Gresini riders made it into the top ten, with Alex Marquez narrowly beating Augusto Fernandez.

The KTM factory team struggled throughout the session, with Jack Miller finishing in 12th place and Brad Binder in 14th.

Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, riding year-old Ducati bikes, had similar results to the KTM riders, securing 13th and 16th places respectively.

KTM provided a special entry for Pol Espargaro, who returned to the track after transitioning to a testing role with the team. He finished in 15th place.

Miguel Oliveira struggled to improve his lap time and ended up in 17th place. The most surprising result was Enea Bastianini, a factory Ducati rider, finishing in 18th place.

Once again, Honda faced difficulties, but Luca Marini was the highest-placed Honda rider, finishing in a disappointing 19th place.

Augusto Fernandez had another poor showing on the GasGas KTM, finishing in 20th place, ahead of LCR Honda’s Takaaki Nakagami.

Nakagami did well on Honda, finishing ahead of Joan Mir from Repsol Honda and his teammate Johann Zarco.

Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori received a special opportunity for the weekend and occupied the last position in the standings.
