Kevin Harvick fala sobre o fechamento da Stewart Haas Racing de Tony Stewart em 2025.

The conclusion of SHR marks the end of an era for the NASCAR Cup Series. Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick (Via IMAGO) On Tuesday, Stewart Haas Racing addressed the rumors surrounding the future of the team, which has been a significant topic of discussion since the beginning of the season. The Ford Mustang team announced that they will suspend all operations at the end of the 2024 season, leaving their driver and team in a challenging situation.

Now, Tony Stewart, who previously won the Cup title in 2014, shared his thoughts on the decision made by SHR. The future Hall of Famer finds it incredible to witness his former team close at the end of the season. He struggles to understand the implications of this event.

Harvick’s retirement in 2023 played a crucial role in the team’s downfall. The team lost its competitive edge on the track and in the sponsorship market after Harvick’s departure. All of Harvick’s major sponsors chose to leave the team along with him, putting immense financial pressure on SHR.

After Kevin Harvick’s retirement, SHR assigned the No. 4 seat to a former JR Motorsports driver. He joined the team with high hopes, but the underperforming car, along with the decision to cease operations, put him in a difficult position. He acknowledges that it is a challenging day for him, but promises to race with passion in the remaining races.

Today was a challenging day for all of us. It is difficult to find the right words to express our feelings. I am proud of our team for how they have handled this situation and will continue to do so in the future. RC is a true leader, and we will continue to give our best every Sunday.

Berry is one of the drivers most affected by the decision to end operations. He may not have another opportunity to compete in the Cup series like his younger teammates, Noah Gragson and Chase Briscoe. Berry may have to return to the Xfinity series in 2025.
