Larson vence o prêmio de Novato do Ano na Indy 500 de 2024.

Kyle Larson was named Rookie of the Year at the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500. The NASCAR champion made his debut in the IndyCar series last weekend, starting in fifth position and finishing in 18th place. Larson showed impressive skills in this new discipline driving the #17 car for Arrow McLaren / Rick Hendrick. However, his race took a turn when he committed a speeding violation in the pit lane, resulting in a penalty that dropped him to 22nd place. Despite this setback, Larson fought to recover and ultimately secured his finishing position. Larson’s participation in both the Indianapolis 500 and the NASCAR Coca Cola 600 on the same day drew significant attention from fans and media. Although he did not achieve the best result among rookie drivers, Larson’s overall performance and positive influence on the event earned him the Rookie of the Year award. Throughout the month of May, Larson’s presence was felt in the paddock, with dedicated merchandise trailers selling his products. Fans showed their support by wearing Larson’s t-shirts and hats, featuring the specially designed “Hendrick 1100” logo. Larson’s participation in this year’s Indianapolis 500 was planned in advance, and he expressed interest in attempting the double challenge again next year. As a reward for his achievement, Larson received a $50,000 bonus, bringing his total prize money for the Indianapolis 500 to $178,000.
